W. Brewer, Jr.; four sons, Roland J. Messick, Ernest E. Messick, Sr., Horace W. Messick and Walter E. Messick, all of Norfolk; four stepdaughters, Mrs. James Parham of Henderson, N.C., Mrs. L.T. Gottschall of National City, Calif, Mrs. Herbe Mathias of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Fred Hallock of Charleston S.C. and a number of grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Mr. Messick was a native of Norfolk, living at 172 Portview Ave., at the time of his death. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was employed at the Charleston, S.C., and Norfolk naval yards for 25 years until his retirement in 1945. A funeral service will be held in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Wednesday at 3 p.m. Burial will be Cedar Grove Cemetery.
