Norfolk - Funeral services for Joseph Mills were held Sunday in First Calvary 
Baptist Church by the Rev. C. E. Griffin.  Graves Funeral Home arranged a burial 
will full military honors in Calvary Cemetery.

He died at his residence,  at 889 Fremont street, after a long illness.

A Deep Creek native, he was the husband of Mrs. Ruth Mills.  He held membership 
with First Calvary Baptist Church, was a World War I veteran and was retired 
from Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Miss Merlin Mills of 
Newport News and Miss Gloria Mills and Mrs. Leona Jones of Chesapeake;  and two 
sons, Joseph Mills Jr. of Portsmouth and Hilton Mills of Chesapeake.
