Rev. Dr. Coke Smith conducted the service. There were many floral tributes testifying the high esteem to which the dead boy was held by those who knew him best. The telegraph employees sent a cross; from the printers, a harp; from the printers at Evening News office, a pretty design; from Mrs. Dezendorf, a pillow; from Mrs. Bacchus, of Portsmouth, a harp. The pall bearers were Messrs. Sydney Tabb, Henry Hall, George Modlin, James Shadbolt, Frank McKenna, Joseph Abdell, Harry Belote, Thomas Sandford, Jesse Duffee, Olie Brown, Ernest Griggs and Howard Shannon. The interment was in Elmwood.
