The deceased had been in feeble health for some weeks, but her sudden passing was wholly unexpected. She was the mother of the late Lieut. Luther W. Minnis, well known in Norfolk. She is survived by three daughters -- Clara, Florence and Lela Minnis; one brother, Richard De Ford, of Norfolk County and one sister, Mrs. William Forward, of this city. She was a woman of many endearing traits of character and leaves many friends, who will learn with sorrow of her demise. The funeral will be held from the Cumberland Street M.E. Church, of which she was a consistent member, at 5 o'clock this afternoon, and will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. R. Finley Gayle.
