Virginian-Pilot February 16 & 17, 1913
William Minutolo, the 19-year-old son of Mr. John Minutolo, 25 Falkland street, 
was taken suddenly ill Friday night at 11 o’clock and died yesterday morning at 
6 o’clock in the hospital at the University of Virginia. His death was due to 
acute oedema and failure of the heart.
When Mr. John Minutolo, the father of young Minutolo, arrived at the offices of 
Grandy Brothers, where he is the bookkeeper, yesterday morning, he was told that 
there was a telegram on his desk for him. Not knowing his son was even ill, he 
was greatly shocked to learn that it was a message telling of the death of his 
son. Although he was almost prostrated, he immediately made arrangements to send 
his sons, Alfred and Arthur to Charlottesville to accompany the body to this 
city. The mother of William Minutolo had not been told of her son’s death. She 
has been very ill for quite a while and it was feared the shock would prove too 
much for her,
William Minutolo was graduated from the Charlotte street Grammar School and 
entered the Norfolk High School at the age of 14, where he was graduated with 
honors. He entered the University of Virginia at the beginning of the present 
session to take a course in law.

MINUTOLO – At University of Virginia hospital, Saturday, February 15, 1913, at 6 
o’clock a.m., WILLIAM, son of John and Louise Minutolo, in the 20th year of his 
age.
Funeral services at St. Mary’s Catholic church MONDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend.
