The Virginian Pilot January 24, 1986
George Frederick Mitchell Sr., 78, of 5856 Curlew Drive, a native of Richmond, 
died Wednesday in a hospital.
Mr. Mitchell is the retired owner of Mitchell Sign Co.  He formerly worked at 
Creative Display Ltd.  He was a veteran of the Army Air Force in World War II.  
Survivors include his wife, Eva Mae Mitchell; a son George F. Mitchell Jr. of 
Norfolk; a sister, Mary Billington of Melbourne Fla.; a grandchild; and two 
great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood 
Cemetery by the Rev. Sidney Nelson.  The family will be at Hollomon-Brown 
Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
