The Virginian Pilot Saturday May 22, 1971
Eli Milton Mitchell, 93, of 4500 Newport Ave. died in a Hampton hospital 
Thursday.
A native of Pineville, W.Va., he lived here 18 years.
He was the husband of Mrs. Carrie Knowlton Mitchell and a son of John W. and 
Mrs. Crosby Mitchell.
He was a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge 266 and Park Place Baptist 
Church.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bernice M. Miller 
of Washington, Mrs. Olive Young Crawford of Silver Spring, Md., and Mrs. 
Catherine M. Stillman of West Alexandria, Ohio; and a son, Eli Milton 
Mitchell Jr. of Honolulu.
A private funeral service will be held in Magnolia Cemetery Sunday at 2 p.m. 
by the Rev. Paul B. Watlington Jr.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.  H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments 
has charge.
