Norfolk - Final rites were held Sunday for Phillip Mitchell in Hale Funeral Home 
with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  He died April 14 in his home at 2821 Liberia 
drive after a short illness.

A native of Windsor NC, he was a son of Mrs. Nancy Ann Mitchell and the late 
Walter Mitchell and the husband of Mrs. Mary Mitchell.

He  had been employed by Economy Stores, Inc., for three years.

Survivors other than his mother and widow are two stepsons, Edwin Ruffin and 
George Ruffin of Norfolk;  and five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Howard of Norfolk, Mrs. 
Beulah Bell Baker and Miss Roselle Mitchell of New York, and Mrs. Florence Baker 
and Mrs. Daisy Council of Oak City, NC.
