He was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was retired from Tony’s Shoe Store after 60 years and was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Elks Lodge 38. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Lillie LaGiglia of Virginia Beach, Miss Jennie Montagna and Miss Annie Montagna of Norfolk; four brothers, Frank Montagna, George Montagna, Anthony Montagna, and Julius Montagna, all of Norfolk; and nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church by Fr. Francis Toner. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is in charge. A rosary will be said Monday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to the giver’s favorite charity. Honors will be accorded at the grave by Elk’s Lodge 38.
