Virginian-Pilot  April 30, 1943
Giuseppe Montagna, aged 86, son of the late Francesco and Mrs. Maria Loguise 
Montagna, a native of Nicosia, Sicily, and a well-known resident of Norfolk for 
the past 60 years, died yesterday morning at 4:25 o’clock at the residence, 1215 
DeBree avenue. Mr. Montagna was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the 
Thomas Jefferson Lodge and the Italian Benevolent Society.
He is survived by seven sons, Salvatore, Frank Paul, Charles Joseph, John, 
George W., Anthony and Junius Montagna; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony Lagiglia 
and the Misses Jennie and Anne Montagna, all of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, 
four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Saturday morning 
at 9 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be 
held at the residence tonight at 8 o’clock.
