A. Moore, Norfolk tailor who resided at 906 Lexington street, died Monday morning after a lingering illness. He was a native of Chester SC and had been a resident of Norfolk since he graduated from Hampton Institute in 1910. Mr. Moore came to Norfolk to take a job with the New York Tailoring Company which he held for a number of years. He taught at the John T. West School under the principalship of John R. Dungee. He opened a tailoring business at 852 Princess Anne road 26 years ago. He was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian Church now known as the Marks Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was an elder and trustee of the church, and was a member of the adult Bible class. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Feddie Moore, formerly of Charlotte NC; two daughters, Miss Alfrieda Moore, Norfolk, and Mrs. Jessie Moore Birtha, of Philadelphia; two granddaughters, Rachel Roxanne and Rebecca Lucille Bitha; three sisters, one brother, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Mr Aaron A. Moore will be held Sunday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Marks Memorial Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. The Rev. F. D. Nance will officiate. Hale’s Funeral Home will be in charge.
