Maj. James Francis Moore, 54, of 619 Pennsylvania Ave., the husband of Mrs. Patricia Wilshaw Moore, died Thursday in a Portsmouth hospital. He was born in Brooklyn and lived in this area for 20 years. He served in World War II and the Korean War and retired in 1969 after 30 years of service. He formerly was employed by A. C. Pipe of Norfolk. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and its Parish Council. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lynn F. Barnes of Virginia Beach; six sons, Michael James Moore of Verona, N.C., Peter Brian Moore, Kevin Sean Moore, and John Vincent Moore of Norfolk, Patrick William Moore of Bermuda, and Joseph Robert Moore of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Moore Horstch of Hypaugh, Long Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and two nieces. The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, where a Christian Wake service will be held Sunday night at 7. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. John Grace. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
