William Edward Moore, 69, of 4107 Newport Avenue, husband of Mrs. Lucy Smith 
Moore, died yesterday at 2 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Lynchburg, he was the son of the late William A. and Mrs. Permelia 
Goodman Moore. A retired Navy Yard worker, he had made his home in Norfolk for 
21 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. Woodley 
Spencer and Mrs. Luther Wilkins, of Norfolk; four brothers, George R. Moore and 
Martin Moore, of Richmond; R. L. Moore, of Bristol, and J. A. Moore, of Roanoke.
The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Home, where rosary services will 
be held tonight at 8:45 o’clock. The body will be taken to the Blessed Sacrament 
Church for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
