Virginian-Pilot February 24, 1919
Mrs. Catherine Moore, wife of R. L. Moore, died at a local hospital at 2 o’clock 
yesterday afternoon. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. 
Annie Oakes and Mrs. Mary Joynt, both of Norfolk, and two brothers, Owen and 
Lawrence Dowd, both of New York city. The funeral will be held from Oliver’s 
funeral apartments this afternoon at 4 o’clock and interment will be in St. Mary’s 
cemetery.
