Moorman, Business and Fraternal Leader NORFOLK - Joseph V. Moorman of 816 Avenue A, restauranteur, tax consultant active in civic, political and fraternal affairs of Norfolk, died Tuesday in a hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Helen Brickhouse Moorman and a son of Flecher and Mrs. Zula Moorman. He was graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and Wilberforce University. He formerly was part owner of Boone and Moorman's Seafood Cafe, operated Moorman's Sandwich Shop, was a tax consultant, and handled real estate. He was president of Norfolk Chapter of Frontiers of America, president of the Community Democratic Club, treasurer of the City NAACP Chapter, member of Hunton YMCA, secretary of Norfolk Mission Alumni Association, and a deacon and clerk of First Baptist Church, Bute Street. He was a member of the Board of Managers of First Baptist Church Home For the Aged, member of the Financial Board of the church, Greater Eureka Elks Lodge 5, and president of the Oriole Social and Beneficial Club. Besides his widow, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Yvonne Bradley of Oakland, Calif.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by Dr. E. Paul Simms. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with graves Funeral Home in charge.
