Thomas Moran died at the home of his son-in-law, W. M. Macon, 134 Eleventh street, 
at an early hour yesterday morning, having been in declining health for some time, 
in the eighty-sixth year of his age. Mr. Moran was born in Ireland but had resided 
in Norfolk 60 years. He was a man of fine character and highly esteemed in the 
community. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. M. Macon, and a son, John A. 
Moran, both of Norfolk. The funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church at 
9 a.m. Monday. Interment in St. Mary’s cemetery.
