A native of Pasquotank County, N.C., he had lived here the last 65 years. For many years he was employed as a meat cutter by the D. Pender Stores and later Colonial Stores Incorporated. He retired a number of years ago. His parents were B.F. and Mrs. Alice Pritchard Morgan. Long active in church and fraternal affairs of Berkley, he was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church, Berkley; Berkley Lodge 163, A.F. and A.M., Ionic Royal Arch Chapter, Grice Commandery and Khedive Temple of the Shrine. Besides his wife, surviving are two sons, Emmett C. Morgan, of Norfolk and Benjamin F. Morgan, Jr., of Richmond; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lena Lewis and Mrs. Katherine M. Powers, both of Norfolk; Mrs. Helen I. Snead, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Emma M. Gibboney, of Greensboro, N.C.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Christian Church, Berkley. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the services. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
