Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark May 22, 1915

Mrs. Mary Morgan, aged 71 years, died yesterday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock at the 
residence of her daughter, Mrs. M.K. Sykes, 210 West Nineteenth street, after a 
lingering illness.   She was a native of Pasquotank County, N.C., but had been a 
resident of this section ten years and was well known and respected.  She is 
survived by four daughters, Mrs. M.S. Spence, Aydlette, N.C.; Mrs. T.M. Walker, 
Mrs. Harry Simpson, Mrs. M.K. Sykes, all of this city; one sister, Mrs. A.J. 
Bailey of Elizabeth City and two brothers, G.W. Smithson of Rocky Mount, N.C. 
and L.M. Smithson of Greenville, Tenn.  The funeral services will be conducted 
at the residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock and the interment will be in the 
family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
