James Luther Morgan, formerly of 603 Marshall Ave., died Wednesday in a Hampton
hospital after a short illness.
A native of Rockingham, N.C., he was retired from Local 1248 of the
International Longshoremens Association after 20 years. He was an Army veteran
of World War II.
He was a son of Miss Bessie Nicholson and the late Rich Morgan.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Bessie M. Steward of Virginia Beach; three
brothers, the Rev. Glenwood Morgan of Norfolk, Crawford Morgan of Chatham, N.Y.
and the Rev. Jesse Morgan of Washington; two grandchildren; a nephew; and a niece.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:15 p.m. in Antioch Baptist Church by
th Rev. I. Joseph Williams.  Burial, with military honors, will be in Calvary
Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Steward.
