Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday July 15, 1934
Robert Henry Morris, aged 75, died at his home, "Forest Lodge," on the Water 
Works road, Princess Anne County, yesterday afternoon at 3:50 o'clock, after 
an illness of two years.  He was a native of Chicago and had been a resident 
of Norfolk and vicinity for the past 40 years.  He was a lumberman and was 
associated with the North Carolina Pine Association, now the Southern Pine 
Association, as Southern manager for many years prior to his retirement on 
account of failing health two years ago.  He was the son of George 
Washington and Dorothy Caroline Eckardt Morris and in addition to his wife, 
Mrs. Helen Scharff Morris, is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Letcher V. 
Marshall, Suffolk; Mrs. Thomas Charles White, Mrs. Stanley K. Joynes, Mrs. 
George Howard Loeb and Mrs. Ernest H. Moore, Norfolk; and Mrs. Albert E. 
Lundquist, New York City; one son, Capt. Robert E. Morris, Norfolk; ten 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. E.W. LaCroix, 
Lynn, Mass. and Mrs. Addison Putnam, Lowell, Mass.
Mr. Morris was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Morris will be conducted at the funeral home of 
E.Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover avenue, tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock.  The 
Rev. Marshall E. Travers, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Kempsville, 
will officiate
Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
