Norfolk Ledger Dispatch November 23, 1910

Mrs. Alice Coles Morris, widow of William S. Morris, died yesterday evening at 
6:40 o'clock at one of the Norfolk hospitals, in the 63d year of her age. She 
was a native of this city and was well known and greatly esteemed in the 
community. She was a lady of most beautiful character, possessed of many lovable 
and endearing qualities, and her demise is regretted by a wide circle of 
friends. She is survived by one son. William S. Morris, Jr. She was for many 
years a member of Cumberland Street Methodist Church, where her funeral will 
occur tomorrow, the pastor, Rev. R.F. Gayle, officiating. The remains will be 
taken from the home of her son, No. 269 Bute Street, to the church for funeral 
tomorrow at 12:30 o'clock
