Virginian Pilot Thursday Feb.9, 1961


Richard Robinson Morris, 71, son of Robert Robinson and Mrs. Julia Frances 
Cherry Morris, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died Wednesday at 7:55 a.m. in 
the home of his niece, Mrs. F.M. Earnest, 1138 Little Bay Ave.
Mr. Morris was employed by Norfolk-Southern Railroad 36 years, retiring two 
years ago as rate clerk.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and of Norfolk Elks Lodge 38.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. W.J. Alford of Norfolk.
The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday at 7:30 
p.m. A funeral service will be held in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Saturday at 
10 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
