He was a native of Norfolk and an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed at Southland Industries Inc. for 10 years. Survivors include three sisters, Etta Butts, Catherine Morris and Mamie Taylor,and a brother, James Lucas, all of Norfolk. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Graves Funeral Chapel by the Rev. J. L. Kearney. Burial will military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family is at the home of Mamie Taylor, 1601 Vernon Drive, Norfolk.
