Morris died Wednesday, June 3, after a few weeks' illness. He was born in Cape Charles but had been a citizen of Norfolk for many years. The funeral was conducted from the St. John's Church, Rev. L. L. Berry, pastor, officiating. A large number of the P. R. R. officials attended in a body. B. G. Vincent spoke of the deceased and his services to the P. R. R. during his forty years employment there. Mr. Morris is survived by a daughter, Obelia; a foster sister, Mrs. Ethel Derry of New Rochelle, NY; two grandchildren, Miss Wilhelmina and Joseph, Jr Overton; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Giddings, and Mrs. Jennie Dixon of Cape Charles; a brother, George Morris of Baltimore; and other relatives.
