Morris It becomes our mournful duty to record this morning the death of the above well known and estimable gentleman, who departed this life on Wednesday night last at 10:10 o'clock at his residence on the corner of Holt Street and Noe's Court. The deceased was one of the most popular young men in the city, bearing an irreproachable character and being universally liked and admired by all who were acquainted with his exemplary life and many noble qualities. He was the son of Davidson Morris, and was born in Princess Anne County. When still quite young he cast his fortunes with the Confederacy and served his state throughout the war faithfully and well as hospital steward in the Huger Battery. After the war he engaged in the drug business, and for several years has been conducting a drug store on Church Street. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was regarded as a true and upright Christian. His funeral will take place from the Freemason Street Baptist Church today at 12 M.
