The Norfolk Virginian Pilot June 20, 1945
Mrs. Laura McClanan Morrisett, 75, died at her residence, 3030 Virny Ridge 
Avenue, yesterday at 4:15 a.m. after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late James and Mrs. Frances McClanan, a native of 
Princess Anne County, but a resident of Norfolk for 50 years.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Ople Rathnell, of Baltimore, and Miss 
Virgie Morrisett, of Norfolk; grandson, Chauncey O. German, and two great-
grandchildren, all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. T.E. Landis tomorrow at 3:30 
p.m. in the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley Avenue, Burial will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery.
