Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 29, 1923

Oscar Littleton Morrisette, Sr., aged 68 years, one of the best known 
citizens on this side of the river, died yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock 
at his residence, 707 Fauquier street.  He had been sick eleven days.
Mr. Morrisette was born in Portsmouth, but had lived in Norfolk for nearly 
fifty years.  He was a son of the late J.F. and Mrs. Fannie Hoge Morrisette.  
For many years he was a contracting painter with a large business in 
Berkley.  Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Annie C. Morrisette, two 
daughters, Mrs. J.A. Godfrey and Miss Helen F. Morrisette; three sons, 
Russell, Oscar L. Jr. and James I. Morrisette; one brother, John T. 
Morrisette; and two grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at the 
residence Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.  Rev. W.L. Murphy, pastor of 
Memorial Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
