T. Morrisett. The funeral of this gentleman, whose death has been so sincerely regretted by the community at large, took place yesterday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Mary’s Church and was largely attended. The members of the two branches of the City Council were present in a body, as also nearly all the officers of the city, besides a phalanx of the city police, who acted as an escort from the residence to the church, and from the church to the outskirts of the city. A solemn requiem mass was celebrated, the Rev. Father Cutlar officiating previous to the sacrifice of the mass. The Rev. Father O’Keefe delivered a feeling address, in which he paid a just tribute to the memory of the deceased, whom he had known for more than thirty years. After the service of the mass the remains were conveyed to the Catholic Cemetery, followed by a large concourse of sympathizing friends. The services at the grave were conducted by Father O’Keefe. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Select Council-Judge George S. Oldfield and S. T. Oliver. Common Council—Capt. C. G. Elliott and John O’Connor. Citizens—Capt. Thomas Kevill, Samuel Marsh, William M. Newstead and Isaac Bush. Peace to his ashes.
