                William Morrisette, Sr., Hardware Merchant, Dies

William Gordon Morrisette, Sr., 73, of 6204 Granby Street, owner of the 
Morrisette Hardware Company, died Saturday at 9:45 p.m. at a Norfolk hospital 
after a long illness.
He was a member of St. Brides Episcopal Church and a charter member of Willie 
Lee Lodge 119, Knights of Pythias, South Norfolk.  A native of Camden County, 
N.C., he had been a resident of Norfolk for 65 years and had been in the 
hardware business for the last 60 years.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Gertrude Hodges Morrisette and the son of 
Montford Hughes Morrisette and Mrs. Emily Gordon Morrisette.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H.W. Marwitz, of Norfolk; two sons, William 
Gordon Morrisette, Jr., Norfolk and John Hodges Morrisette of South Norfolk; two 
sisters, Mrs. Margaret Lynch, of Culpeper and Mrs. W.S. Metcalf, of Washington, 
D.C.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held at the Graham Funeral Home today at 2 p.m.  Burial 
will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

William Gordon Morrisette, Sr. - Funeral services for Mr. Morrisette, of 6204 
Granby Street, who died Saturday, were conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. at the 
Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, by the Rev. William C. Hoffman, rector of 
St. Brides Episcopal Church.  Pallbearers were N.H. Palmer, John Tucker, M.L. 
Phelps, Jeff Davis, F.J. Gudac, George C. White, James Piland and S.E. Coe. 
Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
