R. MORRISON, 82, IS STRICKEN Lifelong Resident of Portlock To Be Buried Today at 2 o'Clock John Robert Morrison, aged 82, one of the oldest citizens of the Portlock section, died Thursday night at 11 o'clock at his residence, 903 Edgewood avenue, Portlock, after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Portlock, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Frances Cotton Morrison and husband of the late Nannie Bernard Roland Morrison. He was a charter member and senior deacon of the Board of Deacons. He had been a merchant in Portlock for a number of years and had many friends throughout the section. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sallie Roane and Mrs. Fannie N. Herbert; four sons, Thomas O., Hamilton Roland, John Robert, Jr. and Albert S. Morrison, all of this section; 14 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South Norfolk. It will lie at the Rosemont Christian Church from noon until 2 o'clock this afternoon and the funeral services will be conducted from the church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
