He was a native of Perquimans County, North Carolina and had made his home in South Norfolk for 39 years. He was a son of the late Grandy and Penelope Sawyer Morse, and the husband of Mrs. Annie O'Neal Morse. Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. L.L. Curling, Mrs. J.J. Sawyer, Miss Alma Morse and Miss Thelma Morse; two sons, Melvin and Norman Morse, South Norfolk; one brother, Dock Morse, New Hope, N.C., and three grandchildren. Mr. Morse was a member of the South Norfolk Christian Church and was one of the first councilmen in South Norfolk from the Third Ward. He devoted much of his time to the welfare of the community. He was well known and leaves many friends. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the family residence and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
