Norfolk Landmark August 10, 1898

Mr. Michael Mulcahey died yesterday morning at 6:10 o'clock at the home of his 
brother-in-law, Mr. Peter Burns, No. 412 Bute Street, aged 69 years. The 
deceased was a member of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, Confederate Veterans. The 
funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church.

The funeral of Mr. Michael Mulcahey, who died Tuesday at the residence of his 
brother-in-law, Mr. Peter Burns, No. 412 Bute street, took place from the Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church at 10 o’clock yesterday morning, when requiem mass was 
said by Father Wilson. Members of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, Confederate Veterans, 
of which the deceased was a member, attended the funeral. The following were the 
pallbearers: Messrs. John Topham and Michael Archibald, from Pickett-Buchanan 
Camp; James O’Rourke, Martin Cashin, Daniel Long, Michael Cashin, John Coleman 
and J. H. Tierney. The interment was in the Catholic Cemetery.
