The Virginian Pilot January 6, 1922
Joseph C Mullen, 73 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 302 Olney 
road. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lettie Bowden, and one 
son, E. Byrd Mullen, of Norfolk; also by a brother, William Mullen, of 
Portsmouth. Mr. Mullen was a member of Cumberland Street Methodist Church, from 
which the funeral will take place at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. E. L. Bain 
will conduct the services. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
