D. Oliver Funeral Apartments January, 2015 Florence Tully Mulvihill, 93, of the 700 block of Rapidan River Ct., Chesapeake, died December 30, 2014, in her home. Mrs. Mulvihill was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Edward Tully and Florence Wolfe Tully. Mrs. Mulvihill was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake; she was also a member of the Grand Group and the Great Bridge Seniors. Mrs. Mulvihill worked for twenty years in the Diocese of Brooklyn, N.Y. - seventeen years in the Education Department and three years in the Brooklyn Chancery Office as secretary to Bishop Anthony J. Bevilacqua, now Cardinal Emeritus of Philadelphia, PA. In 1983, she went to work in the Archdiocese of New York as secretary to his Eminence John Cardinal O'Connor. She retired in 1986, and moved to Chesapeake in 2002, from Pennsylvania and lived in Queens Gate at River Walk for the past twelve years. Mrs. Mulvihill was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Mulvihill, and a son, Joseph E. Mulvihill. Survivors include two daughters; Mary Jo Walsh and her husband, Michael, of N. Plainfield, NJ, Rosemary Mulvihill, of Chesapeake, a son, Vincent Mulvihill, of Queens, NY, and a brother, Edward Tully, of Utah. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the Chesapeake Chapel of H.D.
