A native of Camden County, N.C., he had lived in this section for 22 years. He had been employed as a carpenter by the N & W for 28 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Employees and of the Woodmen of the World Camp, South Norfolk. His late parents were Simon and Mrs. Missouri Garrett Munden. Besides his wife, surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Donald E. Holbert, Misses Virginia A. Munden, Geraldine L. Munden, Marian J. Munden and Frances S. Munden, and six sons, Haywood Munden, Jr., William F. Munden, James H. Munden, Raymond L. Munden, Charles W. Munden and Stephen G. Munden, all of South Norfolk, and four grandchildren. The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
