Munden , Jr., 79, of the Colony Pines Apartments, departed this life, Feb. 3, 1998. Mr. Munden was a native of Norfolk and was the son of the late Capt. James S. Munden Sr. and Lucille Akers Munden. He was also the nephew of the late Mrs. W. J. Hunt. Mr. Munden was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a former member of Park Place Methodist Church. Up until his death, he worked for Mcleskey and Associates, where he was a well loved, devoted employee who will be missed dearly. He was active in the Boy Scouts Troop No. 6 from his youth until his early adulthood and always held a special place in his heart for the organization. Survivors include his sister, Lucille M. Oliver and her husband, Edmond, of Norfolk; his brother, William H. Munden and his wife, Mary, of Lumberton, NC; his three nephews, John E. Oliver and his wife, Truman, of Chesapeake, James W. Oliver and his wife, Beverly, of Sioux Falls, S.D., W. Tom Oliver of Chesapeake; and his grand-nephews Ian, Noa, and Will Oliver. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Frank Drake. Memorial donations may be made to the Park Place Methodist Church Building Fund, 35th St. and Colonial Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23508. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
