John W. Murden died at his home, 324 Calvert street, at 1:25 yesterday morning 
after a lingering illness in the 63rd year of his age. He was a brickmason by 
vocation and had been a resident of Norfolk for many years. He is survived by a 
widow, five daughters, Mrs. A. Luck, Mrs. Lloyd Chick, Mrs. Fred Cherry, Mrs. R. 
Parsons and Mrs. Joseph Young; also, three sons, B. L., C. E. and Alonzo Murden, 
all of Norfolk. The funeral will be held from his late residence at 3:30 o’clock 
this afternoon.
