Norfolk Ledger Dispatch December 26, 1924

William R. Murphy, Jr., aged 85 years, died suddenly Thursday evening at 6 
o'clock at the residence of his son-in-law, W.W. Moss, Edgewater. He was a 
native of Princeton, N.J. and had been a well known resident of Norfolk for a 
number of years. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W.W. Moss, eight 
grandchildren, W.R.M. Moss, Mrs. Samuel T. Northern, James A. Moss, Miss Anna 
Caldwell Moss, Mrs. H.C. Whitmore, Warrington C. Moss, William W. Moss, Jr., 
Mary L. Moss and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the First 
Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at the above residence 
tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. I.D. Terrell, of Ocean View 
Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be private in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
