Murphy died very suddenly, after only an hour's illness, yesterday afternoon, at his home, 4208 Bowden Ferry Road, aged 52 years. He is survived by his wife and a brother, John E. Murphy of Lynnhaven, Va. The funeral takes place at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, at V.H. Smith's Funeral Apartments, Olney Road and Manteo Street, Rev. E.P. Miner, of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial in Elmwood. ****************************************************************************** The funeral of James H. Murphy took place this afternoon at V.H. Smith's Funeral Apartments and was conducted by Rev. E.P. Miner, of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, being largely attended. There were many floral offerings. The burial was in Elmwood, the pallbearers being E.N. Herbert, Leon Hozier, W.O. Mitchell, L.H. Thompkins, E.C. Vanderberry, W.R. Sparrow.
