A few days ago Mr. Murphy had men to begin improving an out building on the premises. In some unaccountable way a box of rough-on-rats which had been stored in the building several months before was knocked down from its lodging place and carried in the yard by the dog owned by Mr. Murphy. No attention was paid to this as the box and its contents had been forgotten. Late in the afternoon their baby got hold of the box and ate a portion of the contents. As soon as this was discovered physicians were summoned and they did all in their power to relieve her, but without avail. The little one had been in the best of health, cheerful, the joy of the home and the pride of her parents. Gloom cast its shadow over the community all yesterday and there were many callers at the home during the day for the purpose of extending words of sympathy. The father holds the position of sawyer with the mills of the Roanoke Railroad and Lumber Company, Money Point, and is well known and highly esteemed. The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************************ The funeral of Sarah Murphy, the two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.E.
