Virginian Pilot January 25, 1990

Charles Franklin Murphy, 38, of the 2000 block of E. Ocean View Ave., a tire 
recapper, died Jan. 19, 1990, in Richmond.
Mr. Murphy was a native of Louisville, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Lorene Murphy; two daughters, Jewell 
Thornburg of Chesapeake and Lucille Thornburg of Norfolk; a son, Edward 
Thornburg of Norfolk; his mother, Goldie R. Murphy of Louisville; a sister, 
Margaret Shelby of Delphi, Ohio; four brothers, George Murphy, William Murphy, 
John Murphy and Richard Humphreys, all of Louisville; and two grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Magnolia Cemetery by 
the Rev. Fritz Stegemann. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, 
is handling arrangements.
