The Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 12, 1947
Mrs. Carrie Murden Murphy, 73, widow of John E. Murphy, died at the residence, 
202 Dey Street, yesterday at 3:35 p.m.  She is survived by three sons, J.E. 
Murphy, of Norfolk; J.M. Murphy, of Princess Anne County and G.W. Murphy, of 
Texas; two granddaughters, Mrs. J.W. Fulcher and Mrs. Lucille Matthews, both of 
Norfolk, and four great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Murphy was a native of Princess 
Anne County and had been a resident of Norfolk for 28 years.  She was a member 
of the Norview Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
at 3 p.m.  Burial will be in the Riverside Memorial Park.
