Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Norfolk. Mr. Murphy was the son of the late Virginius C. and Mrs. Ruth Page Murphy and was a native and lifelong resident of Portsmouth. He was for many years connected with the office supply business in this city and Norfolk, and at one time was a member of the firm operating the old Portsmouth Stationery Company. In later years, he had been connected with Norfolk stationery firms. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Morrisette Murphy; one son, Stephen Morrisette Murphy, and an aunt, Mrs. Murphy Bowers. Mr. Murphy held membership in St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
