Ledger-Star October 13, 1921
Mrs. Ella Pearl Murphy, wife of Edgar A. Murphy, died yesterday morning at a 
Norfolk hospital, following a protracted illness. She was 47 years old. She is 
survived by her husband; a son, Benjamin Seymour; and two sisters, Mrs. Katie 
Wilder, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Lila Daly, of Portsmouth.
The funeral took place this afternoon at H. D. Oliver’s funeral apartments, Rev. 
P. P. Brennan, of St. Mary’s Catholic church, officiating. The burial was in St. 
Mary’s cemetery. There were many floral offerings.
