Virginian-Pilot August 20, 1957
NORFOLK - Mrs. Marie Morrisette Murphy, 71, widow of Charles L. Murphy, died at 
a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 6 a.m. after a short illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 720 Graydon Ave. 
She was a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mrs. Eleanor Sawyer Morrisette. Her 
mother, before her death in 1942, was deputy treasurer of Norfolk county for 35 
years.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are one son, Stephen Morrisette Murphy, of Norfolk; and one brother, 
William L. Morrisette, of Lynnhaven.	
The body was removed to the Cox Funeral Home, where funeral services will be 
conducted tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary 
services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home tonight at 8 o’clock.
