Virginian-Pilot February 24, 1990
NORFOLK – Stephen Morrisette Murphy, 82, of the 1800 block of E. Bayview Blvd., a 
retired comptroller, died Feb. 23, 1990, in a hospital.
Mr. Murphy, a Portsmouth native, had retired from Crestar Bank. He was a member of 
the Episcopal Church of the Advent. He was a graduate of the American Institute of 
Banking.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Cemetery by the Rev. Herbert H. Smith Jr. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, 
is handling arrangements.
