Murphy died at his residence, 402 Sheldon avenue, yesterday afternoon in the 68th year of his age. The funeral will occur from the residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Murphy was a native of Princess Anne county, but moved into the city eight years ago and has lived here since. He was a Confederate veteran, having fought in Mahone's brigade. He was a member of the Princess Anne Lodge of Pythians and attended Trinity M.E. church. Besides a widow, Mr. Murphy is survived by the following sons, and daughters: Rev. W.L. Murphy, of Keller, Va.; John Wesley Murphy and Joseph R. Murphy, of Norfolk; Mrs. W.O. Williamson, Miss Lillian R. Murphy, of this city, and Mrs. W.C. Bonney, of Princess Anne county. A sister, Mrs. Alex Etheridge, lives in Norfolk county, and two brothers, Solon Murphy and Charles Murphy, reside in Princess Anne.
