"Britt" Murray of the 800 block of Philpotts Road, a retired letter carrier, died June 29, 1988, in a hospital. Mr. Murray, a native of Norfolk, had retired from the Postal Service after 34 years. He was a member of First united Presbyterian Church. He attended Elizabeth City State University. He was a member of the Retired Postal Workers Association and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mamie S. Murray; a daughter, Hermoine M. Barber of Norfolk; a son, Edward W. Murray of Richmond; five sisters, Jessie M. Edmonds, Mercedes M. Uzzell and Barbara M. Clinton, all of Norfolk, Sarah M. Ballard of Hornesborough, N.C., and Leola M. Mason of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First United Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Otis J. Wynn. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be form 2 to 8 p.m. today. The family will be at the home.
