NORFOLK - Miss Jean Peugot Murray, 78, of 3900 Llewellyn Ave., retired secretary 
for Seaboard Air Line Railroad and a lifelong Norfolk resident, died Tuesday in 
a hospital.
She formerly lived in the John Knox Towers, 1210 Colonial Ave. She was a Roman 
Catholic and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include a brother, J. Rollins Murray of Pass Christian, Miss.; and 
nieces and nephews, Mrs. Ellen M. Callahan and Kenton L. Murray Jr. of Norfolk, 
C. Whidbee Powell Jr. of Chapel Hill, N.C., Miss Veronica Ann Murray of Ann 
Arbor, Mich., and Richard T. Murray of Newark, Del., and 13 other nieces and 
nephews.
A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7 in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, after which the family will have visitation there.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
