Murray Sr., 66, of 1518 W. Ocean View Ave., retired assistant city real estate assessor, died Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in a hospital. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Veronica M. Murray and a son of Hugh M. and Mrs. Anna Belfield Murray. He retired April 1 because of ill health. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters, Sister M. Veronica Clare, C.S.C., of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. William W. Callahan of Norfolk; two sons, Kenton L. Murray Jr. of Norfolk and Richard T. Murray of Concord, Calif.; a sister, Miss Jean P. Murray of Norfolk; a brother, J. Rollins Murray of New Orleans; and 11 grandchildren. The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. The family, which will be at home, requests that flowers be omitted. NORFOLK – The body of Kenton Lawrence Sr. will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity Catholic Church for a funeral service today at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
